Tech Stack Check: a few questions, then what to actually do about it
Answer a short panel of questions about what your agency runs on and see what's missing, what you may be overpaying for, and what agencies your size pay for the same thing.
Every agency knows it has tools it is not using and bills nobody has looked at in three years. Finding out usually means an audit nobody has time for. This is the short version: eleven questions, mostly a dropdown each, and an answer at the end.
What it asks
- The systems you run on: management system, comparative rater, email and office. If you are on Microsoft, it asks which plan, because the gap between plans is wide.
- Connectivity and support: internet, phones, and who looks after your IT.
- Protection and documents: cyber security, e-signature, and PDF editing.
- Tools and client communication: AI tools, including anything the team picked up on their own, and what you send newsletters with.
- How the agency works: whether there is a written AI policy, whether multi-factor is on for everyone, whether staff get security training, whether there is an incident plan, and whether a backup has ever actually been restored. These are the questions a cyber carrier asks on the application.
What you get back
- Gaps, where you told us you have nothing and most agencies have something.
- Where you pay noticeably more than agencies your size, with the difference in dollars a year.
- Alternatives worth a look, with the reason each one is on the list.
- The practice answers that would give a cyber underwriter pause.
What agencies your size pay
Software vendors price the same product differently for every agency, and agencies are not supposed to compare invoices with each other. So the check pools what people tell it and shows a median by agency size. You never see another agency's own numbers, only a median across at least five agencies the same size as you, and sharing yours is a checkbox you can turn off.
