Member emails: formatting tools, a 7-day reminder and a pay link
The automatic member emails got a formatting toolbar, a one-week renewal reminder, the invoice attached to every renewal reminder, and merge codes for a pay link and the member's benefits.
Associations asked for three things in the automatic member emails: make them look right, make paying easy, and stop once someone has paid. Here's what changed.
- The message editor in Settings > Notifications has bold, italic, bulleted and numbered lists, and links. The preview shows exactly what members get.
- Apostrophes and bullet points now show correctly everywhere, including the full-size preview.
- A new renewal reminder goes out 7 days before a term ends, alongside the 30-day, 2-week, day-of and past-due ones. You can reword it like the others.
- Every renewal reminder now carries the invoice as a PDF, and the {{payLink}} merge code takes the member straight to their renewal to pay by card.
- The {{memberBenefits}} merge code lists the benefits that come with the member's type.
- The Renew button opens the member sign-in page, and the link they get back lands on their renewal.
- Each notification can have its own From address on your sending domain, and the list shows when each one was last edited and by whom.
- Once an invoice is paid in full, no more reminders go out for it, and the payment is checked again right before each send.
