Time off: give one person a different number of days
Personal and bereavement days rarely apply equally to everyone. The days granted in the balances table are now editable per person, and clearing the box puts them back on the policy.
A leave policy grants the same number of days to the whole company, which is right for most kinds of time off and wrong for the ones that depend on tenure or on what someone negotiated when they joined.
What changed
- In the balances table, the number after "of" is now a box. Type a different number and it applies to that person and that policy only.
- Clear the box and they go back to the policy's own number. There is no way to accidentally pin someone at zero by clearing it.
- A box that has been set for someone shows an outline, so you can see at a glance who is on something other than the standard.
- Personal days is now one of the leave types you can create a policy for, alongside paid time off, sick, bereavement, parental and unpaid.
Remaining days, approvals and requests all follow the person's own number once it is set.
