Move a payment to another invoice, and arrange the person record your way

A payment entered on the wrong invoice can now be moved to the right one in one step, with the trail written on both invoices. The person record is now made of blocks you can drag, resize and hide, saved per user.

Payments land on the wrong invoice. Dues get applied to last year's term, a class fee gets entered on the wrong attendee, or one person pays and the seat was for someone else. Until now the fix was a refund and a new payment, which left the books looking like money moved when it never did.

Move payment

  • On any dues invoice or class registration with a payment on it, Move payment takes the money off that invoice and puts it on another one. The other open invoices on the same member or person are listed first; type a name, company, class or invoice number to find one on another record.
  • Move the whole payment or part of it. The payment keeps its original received date on the new invoice.
  • Both invoices get a dated note naming the other, and the payment history on each shows the move in its own color, so the trail reads the same from either end.
  • Works across the two kinds of invoice: a class payment can move to a dues invoice and the other way round, and a registration that was paid in full goes back to owing its balance.

Arrange the person record

  • Everything under a person's identity card (notes, tasks, invoices, continuing education, event history, committees and lists, member-hub access, emails sent, linked records) is now a block, the same system as the Home page.
  • Customize lets you drag blocks into the order you want, make them one to four columns wide, and hide the ones you never use. Reset puts the standard layout back.
  • The arrangement is saved per user, so each person on staff can keep the view that suits their job.

Also

  • A void or written-off dues invoice can no longer be emailed as an invoice, and its PDF shows no balance due. Undo the void or write-off first if it should go out after all.
